SAN DIEGO (AP) — A California jury has awarded $332 million to a man who sued chemical giant Monsanto Co. contending that his cancer was related to decades of using its Roundup weedkiller.A San Diego Superior Court jury awarded damages Tuesday in a lawsuit filed by Mike Dennis, 57, of Carlsbad. CHICAGO — When you think of dynasties and the United Center, the Chicago Bulls championships of the 1990s and the Blackhawks Stanley Cup wins in the 2010s likely come to mind. But there are other dynasties that have played a pivotal role in creating the Madhouse on Madison and will once again be front and center when the stadium hosts the Democratic National Convention in August.“This is a big deal,” said typically understated Bulls president and chief operating officer Michael Reinsdorf as he sat alongside Blackhawks chairman and CEO Danny Wirtz. “The United Center becomes the epicenter with all the eyes watching around the world,” Wirtz said.  “Chicago has a real good opportunity to step-up and show what we’re all about.”The two come from famous families in the world of Chicago sports. Their fathers - who were close friends - formed the partnership that paid for, built and still operates the United Center. Reinsdorf remembers attending the last national political convent...

ST. They did not get a call; rather, they responded to smoke they could see from their Engine Company 24 fire house.  School bus driver on leave after Halloween candy cannabis scare Fire Captain Garon Mosby said, “The first arriving officer felt that he had time to get in there and do a quick search. Obviously, these do not start by themselves.”Capt. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - Police recruits are learning what to do in domestic violence situations through role-playing at the St. Louis County Police Academy. "Learning in an environment like this where the role players aren't going to harm them is an important step in them learning what to do," said Detective Liz Edwards, St. Louis County Domestic Violence Unit. On Thursday, police recruits answered mock calls that lasted less than 20 minutes. Detective Edwards said the mock calls are a chance for the recruits to develop a gut instinct.  Florida kidnapping victims rescued from downtown St. Louis hotel "When we walked in the house or the door opened, the female had a lot of lacerations to her face, as well as a lot of furniture that was displaced that normally shouldn't have been. So that was a first clue things have been thrown around a little bit, people have been getting hit," said Leigha Witney, Creve Coeur Police Recruit."Before we could make a decision, we had to get the stori...
