Can psilocybin help ease existential despair in patients with advanced cancer? CU researchers hope to find out. A new study in Colorado is trying to answer definitively whether psychedelics help at least some patients dealing with distress over advanced cancer.Dr. Stacy Fischer, co-leader of cancer prevention and control at the University of Colorado Cancer Center, said several small studies have found that psychedelic drugs may help patients who are experiencing demoralization or despair because of their impending mortality. Kurtenbach: The 49ers’ biggest weakness is now impossible to miss SANTA CLARA — Conventional NFL roster-building says to build from the inside out. The closer you are to the ball at the line of scrimmage, it’s alleged, the more critical you are.Niners coach Kyle Shanahan doesn’t subscribe to that school of thought. And, sure enough, six games into the 49ers’ campaign, it’s undeniable that San Francisco has an issue on the interior of its offensive line. It’s the type of issue that might not change Monday night’s game with the Vikings, but it will almost certainly prove problematic when they play the NFC’s best down the line this season.Yes, it took six games to find a flaw in the 49ers’ winning machine, but now that it’s been identified, it won’t be easy to ignore. In fact, you might not see anything else.It was right there, in the middle of everything. How did we miss it?The Browns’ defense created a blueprint for how to beat the 49ers last Sunday. It, ironically, is to play a lot lik...

He also moved into the starting lineup for the final three games of the series, all of which were wins against a Cleveland team reduced by injury. He was also a key player on the 2017 and 2018 title teams, though the Warriors relied less on him with Kevin Durant on the roster. His basketball intelligence paired with his slashing offensive style and physic...

In 2022, more than 817,000 people left the Golden State for somewhere else in the U.S. About 475,000 people decided to move to California last year, meaning California suffered a net loss of around 342,000 to other U.S. states. As in years prior, Texas was the No. 1 target for people fleeing California. About 102,000 ex-Californians sought greener – or more likely, cheaper – pastures in Texas last year. That's a modest drop from 2021. Other popular destinations for Californians to move were Arizona (74,157 people), Florida (50,701), Washington (49,968), Nevada (48,836) and Oregon (36,429). Young and wealthy Californians leaving the region for other states, study says “We are losing younger folks, and I think we will see people continuing to migrate where housing costs are lower,” Manuel Pastor, a professor of sociology and American Studies & Ethnicity at the University of Southern California...
